HVAC Maintenance Tips that can Reduce your Energy Costs and Extend the Life of your HVAC System

HVAC maintenance is an important part of homeownership. By maintaining a device, you greatly increase its efficiency, save on operating costs, and avoid potential damage. Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker on your air conditioner every time you perform maintenance.

Regular maintenance will also significantly extend the life of your device. For more information about HVAC maintenance, you can check this site –

Here are some tips to help you make sure your system is working properly.

Change your filters: One of the most cost-effective steps you can take is to change the filter regularly. Your filter is designed to remove dirt and allergens from the circulating air in your home. By changing it regularly, you can keep the air in your home.

Check your fan: During operation, the circulating fan may become loose due to vibration. Check fan tightness every time you change the filter. Loosening the mounting screws will allow the fan to move and release the fan belt.

Check fan belt: The V-belt is one of those parts that move constantly in your oven. Check each time you replace the filter to see if it is worn and needs replacing. If it's shiny, it probably means the belt has slipped on the pulley and has stretched or loosened until it's no longer secure.

Check and vacuum the fan area. Also, be sure to use a brush or rag to wipe the fan blades. Accumulated dust and dirt on the fan blades can put extra stress on the motor and even throw your fan out of balance.
