All About Commercial Solar Power

Even businesses are shifting their gears towards the use of commercial solar power as a major financial decision. Why so? With generous incentives from federal and state governments, is increasing and fluctuating levels unlimited electricity and solar energy all their motivation to switch to solar power.

Investment in commercial solar power can offer long-term savings and fast payback for providing one's company protection against rising electricity rates. Moreover, it allows the company to forecast costs far into the future.

How does commercial solar power? Photovoltaic cells mounted on the ground or the roof of a business facility. It converts solar energy into DC power. The electricity is then sent to the device, known as an inverter. Inverters convert DC power to AC power similar to AC power from the utility grid.

The power then travels to the breaker box or the electrical service panel wherein it is allocated to electrical loads throughout the facility. Excess power generated on the other side flows to the utility grid via the electric meter. This causes the meter to run backward credit resulting in utility companies.

With the possibility of obtaining credit, the agreement should be made between the business owner and the utility company. The agreement, known as net metering, it must be stated that the utility will give credit to the business account for the excess electricity produced and fed into the utility grid.
